Ogopa Djs

Ogopa is a Kenyan music production team and record label formed in the late-1990s which gained regional fame and popularity due to high standards of their production work.

They started out producing hit songs for artists such as Bebe Cool, Chameleone and Redsan. They are known to have boosted the Kenyan urban music scene from behind the scenes. They also created the Boomba (Kapuka) a Kenyan music style of modern hip hop and dance hall which is widely influenced by African drums and rhythms. They later formed Ogopa Productions which also organizes events.

They have so far released three compilation albums and several other albums by their artists. In 2001 their first album was a widely popular in East Africa. This introduced Kenyan fans to the talent of the late E-Sir, K-Rupt and Nameless. They normally produce work for Amani, Big Pin, Nameless, Tattuu, Kleptomaniax, Mr. Lenny, Longombas, Deux Vultures, and many others. They also produced for Namibian, Windhoek based girl duo, Gal Level, and Kenyan-Namibian musician Faizel MC.

People behind Ogopa DJ's are brothers Francis and Lucas Bikedo, and manager Banda. They rarely show their faces in public and do not agree to have their photos taken or published by Kenyan media.

Ogopa studios are located in Nairobi at South B estate. They have also started a another sister label operating in Namibia and South Africa, known as Ogopa Butterfly.
